CHOOSE WITH CONTEXT

What is the mountain like?

It may suit your trip if…

  • Trips focused on the mountain and resort
  • Advanced skiers willing to adapt plans to openings

Before deciding

  • Do not build the whole trip around Marte: check its operation and available terrain each day.
  • Off-piste terrain has its own rules and requirements; do not confuse it with an open run on the map.

Beginners

The ski school and lower areas let you start close to the resort. Eros I and II are landmarks to find on the map when planning your first runs with an instructor.

Intermediates

Compare the Minerva and Vulcano runs on the map, and choose those suited to your level and groomed that day.

Advanced

Marte is a landmark for high-mountain terrain. Off-piste access has its own requirements: check opening status and conditions with the piste office.

Practical planning

Do not base your entire stay around a single lift. Check the status of runs, lifts and off-piste terrain separately; book lessons and equipment before arrival.

Season and conditions

Southern Hemisphere winter season. Check the published calendar for your travel year and the daily report of open areas.

A good way to organize your first day

Beginners should start with school in the lower sectors, using the map to locate Eros. Intermediates can select Minerva or Vulcano runs according to difficulty and grooming. Advanced skiers should decide on high terrain using the latest report.

Trail map

Open-data and archive maps do not show real-time opening status. Check the season on historical maps.

LIFT ACCESS

Which pass you need

Confirm local lift tickets, included areas, and age categories for your dates with the operator.

The comparison requires the same season, age, and dates. Check reservations, blackout dates, and shared allowances before buying. Estimated rates are not presented as quotes.

Include all nights and rooms, taxes, parking, transfers, and cancellation. For families, provide children’s ages; a rate for two adults is not a budget for the whole group.

ANSWERS FOR PLANNING

Questions about Las Leñas

Is it worth planning every day around Marte?

Keep alternative open runs in mind. Access to high terrain depends on the day’s operations and conditions.

Hotel or apartment within the valley?

A hotel simplifies services; an apartment gives the group independence. Compare what each booking includes and how you will handle meals and equipment.

Can I treat off-piste terrain like another marked run?

No. Check official rules and current requirements as well as terrain conditions; an open lift does not mean every slope is open.
