A useful guide should help you decide and show where its information comes from.

What MountainScanner covers

The catalog brings together 3934 ski destinations and areas. There are 35 editorial guides, 455 entries with identified photos, and 2884 with a link to the destination’s website. The remaining entries indicate which information is still pending.

An atlas entry does not confirm that the resort is open, that access is public, or that services are still operating. Always check with the operator for your dates.

How we use sources

• The guides link to the websites of operators, tourism offices, and transport providers used to describe each destination.
• The atlas combines OpenSkiStats and data from OpenSkiData/OpenSkiMap, OpenStreetMap, Skimap.org, Who’s On First, and Mapterhorn, according to their datasets’ attributions.
• Elevations, vertical drop, and mapped length may represent only part of the resort. We do not present them as official statistics unless the source is the operator.
• Airports come from OurAirports. Distances are straight-line distances: they do not indicate road travel time, flight frequency, or transfer feasibility.

Identified photographs

We use images associated with the destination, with the source, author, and license visible in each guide. A photo may show the surroundings, a specific area, or a different season; we indicate this in the caption. We do not replace a pending photograph with a generic image of another mountain.

What each price means

The pass comparison tool calculates by participant, age at purchase, destination, and consecutive days. It uses prices for identified Ikon variants and dated Epic reference prices in USD; it does not multiply “from” prices or mix ages or durations. It shows a subtotal when a participant still needs to be resolved. Reference prices expire, and ambiguous rates are excluded from the sum. The result is neither a booking nor a quote for the whole trip. Integrated searches, when enabled, come from the provider shown on screen and retain that provider’s terms. External searches open the provider’s website and do not automatically return a price to MountainScanner.

The budget comparison uses the amounts you enter and shows missing categories. We never treat an unknown price as zero or guarantee the lowest price across the entire market.

Search tools and rate coverage

Passes show only variants with identified rates and terms. Local lift tickets may require checking the destination’s website. We do not guarantee the lowest price across the entire market.

Integrated flight and accommodation comparison is not active yet. You can prepare your search and continue with the linked providers; check dates, travelers, currency, taxes, and cancellation there. An external link does not automatically return its price to MountainScanner.

The trip budget uses the amounts you enter. We do not convert currencies automatically. Search features indicate when a source is connected and which information is missing.

Reviews and corrections

Editorial guides show their review date. Information may change between that date and your trip. Check opening status, passes, parking reservations, roads, and schedules using the official links.

If you spot an error, write to us using the contact form and include the destination, the detail, and a source to verify it.

Visit measurement

We count visits and certain actions in aggregate by day, page, broad referral channel, and approximate country. We do not store IP addresses, visitor identifiers, form contents, or the full referring URL in these counters. We do not use analytics cookies or send this measurement data to advertising platforms. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals for navigation events. A saved inquiry is counted as a form operation.

These figures are not unique people and may include reloads or automated traffic. Navigation within external search tools cannot be measured from MountainScanner.

Responsible use of forms

We apply request limits to protect forms and search tools. If a submission fails, we keep your details on screen so you can try again. You can also contact Facundo directly on WhatsApp.

Bookings and personal data

We count page views and tool openings in aggregate by day, page, source and country. These counts do not identify unique visitors or confirm messages sent or sales. We do not use analytics cookies or store your IP address in these counts; we respect your browser’s Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.

MountainScanner does not process bookings or payments. When you search or continue with a provider, the necessary trip details are shared with that provider. If an affiliate integration is activated, it is identified alongside the integration. The provider sets the final price and manages the booking.

Favorites, budgets, and the draft list of pass participants are saved in your browser. Opening WhatsApp prepares a message with the details you see on screen; you decide when to send it. Lessons are discussed directly with Facundo, with no sales or automatic bookings on this site. Public pass-rate queries do not send names or ages to the provider; purchase links do not create a cart either. The alternative form privately saves your inquiry and the email address used to reply; it does not send automatic alerts or confirmations. No inquiry confirms a booking.
